Cotococha Amazon Lodge by public bus (approx. 4 hours)

Several public transportation companies operate the stretch Baños – Tena. The journey will take approximately 4 hours, travelling over partially paved and unpaved roads along the city of Puyo. We can arrange a pick up at the Tena bus terminal by one of Cotococha Amazon Lodge staff members to take you to the lodge with another public bus. This will take another 45 minutes. We can provide you also with a private transfer from Tena to Cotococha Amazon lodge at an additional cost.

Pailon del Diablo cascade:

This is a huge waterfall situated at a 30 min. drive from the city of Baños. A short hike of approx. 20 minutes through some very nice Cloud Forest brings you to a hanging bridge from where you can admire this amazing waterfall. Another path brings you up to a lookout at a close distance from the waterfall.

RioTigre Dam:

At the village of Mera you can go for a refreshing swim at this nice bathing site. Enjoy the natural surroundings, clear water and relax taking a natural hydro-massage behind the dam of the RioTigre.

Balsa workshop:

The lightest wood type of the world being handcrafted and painted into nice souvenirs of Ecuador. Observe the whole process of wood carving and painting.

Sugar Cane Distillery:

Visit a local distillery, and see how juice from sugar cane is being processed for making liquor, locally known as Trago or Aguardiente. The liquors with flavours of local fruit species are very tasty.
